This work was created with the idea of creating an edition of a reproduction media such as a print or a photograph, but with a drawing. This was made possible by recording the drawing process.
[Artist Profile]
Born in Tokyo in 1983. Artist. Doctor of Fine Arts.
He studied painting, and with a theoretical background in life systems and the philosophy of science, he is exploring the temporality and emergence of human creative acts (poiesis).
As seen in his representative work, "Woven Fabric Paintings," he expresses self-organizing processes and patterns through his paintings and drawings.
In recent years, he has also been collaborating with scientists to expand the scope of his work, exploring AI pattern recognition/generation and human emotional understanding of AI.
As of 2024, he is a visiting associate professor at the Laboratory of Comparative Literature and Culture at the University of Tokyo, and a part-time lecturer at the Department of Film and New Media at Musashino Art University and the Graduate School of Tohoku University of Art and Design.
