This is a photo book by American photographer Ed Panar, who has spent 10 years photographing the Emerald Triangle, known as the center of California's cannabis culture, in one book.
Behind fence lines, locked gates and dusty dirt roads, cannabis is grown outdoors in a secluded corner, hidden by dense forests. Struck by the natural beauty of the rugged, deserted terrain and the psychedelic harmony of the seasons, the artist sought to capture the (visually) idyllic atmosphere of the place, with endless sun-drenched hills beneath snow-capped mountains. At the same time, the artist also offers a documentary insight into the mysterious allure of cannabis and the cannabis economy, and the complexities of the place.
