"The 100 Abstract Pictures you can see here are a project I've been working on for about five years. I started by pouring enamel paint onto a 50x50cm glass panel. The paints never completely mixed, but flowed into each other. The result was a countless number of ephemeral abstract paintings, which I then photographed. In the book, I juxtapose the paintings with randomly generated text compositions." - Gerhard Richter (2023)

Richter, a world-renowned painter with a career spanning more than 60 years, is arguably one of the greatest artists of the 20th and 21st centuries. Published in conjunction with an exhibition held at the David Zwirner gallery in New York from March to April 2023, this book features new abstract paintings created between 2016 and 2022, and celebrates his dedication to experimental and innovative work throughout his career.
