About the productJapanese

Creating "Kemono" - anthropomorphizing animals or humans
Furry artist Tatsuya Horimoto

A full-scale collection of works by Tatsuya Horimoto, a furry artist. In the early days, Horimoto created works in which he embedded each individual hair into his body, or works in which he was reborn as a furry by returning to the womb, in order to fulfill his desire to transform into a "furry." While still in college, he won many awards and attracted attention, but due to the shock of not being able to become a furry and the discomfort he felt when only "hair" was featured, he stopped using hair. He changed to a new work using ball-jointed doll technology and stone powder clay to create a smooth skin texture. This book includes works from his early days to his latest works, ranging from familiar furs that seem to appear in anime and manga, to deified expressions like Greek sculptures, and sexy furs that will make you fall in love with them with their enchanting poses. "Kemono," written in katakana, refers to anthropomorphic expressions that give non-human animals human emotions, senses, language, appearance, and gestures, or anthropomorphic expressions that give humans animal-like emotions, senses, language, appearance, and gestures. Horimoto, who has had an interest and admiration for kemono since he was a child, focuses on the psychology of humans towards kemono. This conversation, which discusses the historical research into kemono expression and the background to his work, will deepen understanding of kemono and will be a new discovery for kemono enthusiasts and art lovers alike.
