In recent years, Saul Leiter has gained high acclaim both in Japan and around the world.
In particular, his "street photos," which he took as if he were blending into the streets of Manhattan where he lived in his later years, capturing the city and the casual gestures of its people, are captivating.

This book was published as a result of the "Slide Project" by the Saul Leiter Foundation, run by a husband and wife team who were close friends of Saul during his lifetime, to digitally archive the approximately 10,000 slide photographs that had been carelessly left behind in his studio since his death in 2013.
