Nakano Masaki's photo book "TOKYO NOBODY" (Little More), released at the end of the century, became a bestseller, attracting attention for its spectacularly deserted fictional Tokyo. Since then, he has continued to release works capturing Tokyo from his own unique perspective, capturing portraits of the ever-changing city with an 8x10 large-format camera for the past 30 years.

Buildings bathed in the glittering light of the rising sun, vast tracts of land that have suddenly become vacant, random street corners where a sense of humanity still lingers...the multifaceted landscapes of cities throughout the ages are extraordinary, yet they remind us of what is important.

This is the culmination of Nakano Masaki's work, capturing not only empty scenes of Tokyo, but also scenes of Tokyo in the 1970s during its turbulent period of rapid economic growth, and even the construction site of the new National Stadium.

Half a century after the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, the Olympics will be held again in Tokyo in 2020.

During this time, Tokyo has undergone a dizzying transformation, from rapid economic growth to the collapse of the bubble economy and then revitalization.
Personally, I have been taking photographs of the daily lives of people living in the big city of Tokyo since the late 1970s, and have continued to do so since the 1990s.

I have been taking pictures of "empty Tokyo" to explore the expression of the city itself. This book is a collection and consideration of the time that passes in Tokyo, but it also serves as a catalyst for inspiration for the future of Tokyo.
