A new photo book by photographer Yoshinori Mizutani published by the French publisher Editions Xabier Barral.

Yoshinori Mizutani, who has attracted attention both in Japan and internationally, including winning the "Foam Talent" award in 2014, has photographed birds in big cities in this work, following on from his early representative work "Tokyo Parr."

The "birds" seen through his viewfinder are depicted colorfully, poetically and graphically, creating a mysterious visual world that seems like a dream, a nightmare, and emerges within the familiar everyday life of a city.

This book is part of the "Des oiseaux" series, a series of photobooks published by French publisher Editions Xabier Barral on the theme of "birds" in society, as seen by various photographers. Previous books published include those by Pentti Sammallahti, Bernard Plossu, and Terri Weifenbach. An essay by ornithologist Guilhem Lesaffre has also been contributed.
