Anzai Mizumaru
Born in Tokyo (1942-2014). Graduated from the Department of Fine Arts, Faculty of Art, Nihon University. After working as an art director at Dentsu, ADAC (a design studio in New York), and Heibonsha, he became a freelance illustrator and writer, serializing his work in magazines such as Takarajima and Garo. In 1979, he formed the Palette Club with Harada Osamu, Peter Sato, and Akiyama Iku. He has received numerous awards, including the Asahi Advertising Award, the Mainichi Advertising Award, the Special Selection at the Kibun Delicious Illustration Exhibition, the Japan Graphic Exhibition Artist of the Year Award, and the Kinema Junpo Reader's Award. His main works include Amaryllis, Tokens in the Palm of the Hand, Pencil Drawing Landscapes, Rough Seaside, Blue Sky of Aoyama, Scarecrow of Atlanta, Crocodile of Alabama, Melancholy Lullaby, Bird's Sister, The Fourth Aesthetic, I Want to Eat Melon, Even if There is No Fish Heart, Water Heart, and Is It Delicious or Nostalgic?
