"Tsugu" is a brand established by Lab&Design Inc. (Meguro-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Shirakata Hirofumi) in collaboration with traditional craft and industry studios and companies from all over Japan, with the aim of passing on Japan's traditional crafts and traditional industries to the next generation.
This fair will feature the first wave of products.
(The following is an excerpt from the "Tsugu" press release)
The first products, "Banryoku" and "Hoshikage", will be produced in collaboration with Oiso Towel Company, which also produces Imabari towels; "Niwatazumi" small plates from Kutani ware's Seikogama kiln; "Hotaru" and "Amanogawa" bowls from Yamanaka lacquerware's Shirasagi Mokko; and "Meguri", a set of 18 chopsticks made from Noto hiba cypress chopsticks processed in Wajima using the wiped lacquer technique. The project respects the high technical skills and traditions of the participating companies and will convey the beauty of traditional crafts to the younger generation and the world through designs that suit modern lifestyles.

"Banryoku" - lush greenery as far as the eye can see
The design was inspired by the word "banryoku," which describes the abundant green of vegetation, plants, and nature that covers the mountains and fields in summer.
The sunlight filtering through the trees onto the natural complex, the shadows of the plants and the depth of the greenery are recreated using fine stripes by weaving together multiple processing techniques.
It features a delicate and magnificent design with gold embroidery that stands out against the contrast of white and green.
These fluffy, stylish hand towels will add color to your everyday life.

"潦" represents the flow of rainwater that has accumulated on the ground.
The scene of rain falling, wearing away at the stones, staying, and then flowing is expressed in a rhythmic dot pattern using the white grain technique of Kutani ware.
The white background goes well with a variety of dishes, and the accent colors of gold, blue, and green give it a refreshing impression.
