The Kurahashi Rei exhibition "Sweet Time" will be held from May 29th (Mon) to June 25th (Sun), 2023. In addition to 12 new works based on the theme of "12 Months of Girls and Sweets," "PISTACHIOMANIA" sweets with Kurahashi Rei's artwork on the packaging and "Tsukurie" tote bags with illustrations on the fabric will be exhibited and sold.
Kurahashi Rei is active in a wide range of fields, from illustrations for books and picture books to illustrations for candy packaging.
The works are simple yet adorable, reminiscent of foreign candy packaging, and are somehow nostalgic and heartwarming.
The exhibition will feature 12 new works based on the theme of "12 Months of Girls and Sweets," each of which is based on the image of the 12 months of the year, and will also feature A4-sized reproductions and prints, sweets from "PISTACHIOMANIA," whose packaging is illustrated by Kurahashi Rei, and tote bags from "Tsukurie," whose fabric is based on the world of the illustrations.

◆ "PISTACHIOMANIA" sweets
Finely chopped pistachios and Italian pistachio paste are baked into langue de chat dough rich with the aroma of butter, and then sandwiched between thick original milk chocolate.
[Artist Profile]
Born in Gifu Prefecture. Works on magazine and book cover art and illustrations, as well as original illustrations. Picture books include "Remy's Drawer" (by Saito Rin and Ukimaru, published by Shogakukan), "The King's Sweets" (by Ishii Mutsumi, published by Sekai Bunka Publishing), and "Shima-san and the Kneaded Hamburger" (by Tasan Shima and Kusaba Yoshimi, published by Kawade Shobo Shinsha). Other works include "Letter Book" (published by Sekai Bunka Publishing).
