Takashi Yatoshi's solo exhibition "Something that is no one" will be held on the art wall in the store from Saturday, October 26th to Friday, November 15th, 2024.
Yatouji Takashi is an artist based in Saga. He expresses his friends, family, landscapes, plants and other motifs through a combination of lines and colors, changing the drawing style and materials for each piece.
This exhibition will feature the "something that is no one" series, which has been produced mainly in recent years and uses AI-generated human motifs. When depicting motifs that exist in reality, personal emotions can act as noise, so this is a new attempt to explore the relationship with the motif from a zero-base by depicting unrealistic beings.

[Artist Statement]
I draw what I can see. Lines have become the foundation of my expression through many drawings. The movement of my body changes depending on the medium I use: pen, brush, paint, spray, etc. Lines are tense, ephemeral and dynamic, born from conflict, and independent. I explore the construction of paintings and imbalances by combining these. I am conscious of a two-dimensional spread on the same plane, and two-dimensional images piling up and developing into a three-dimensional form. The subject matter stimulates me from outside.
