Learn practical mathematics that moves society forward with this Good Design Award-winning inquiry-based learning program!

■What is Occupational Math?
"What is the use of math?" You get bored with the math drills in front of you because you can't see the connection between math and your daily life. But what if you knew that math is actually used everywhere, such as in your favorite clothes, cool architecture, and the business of the convenience store you frequent? You will develop a practical way of looking at and thinking about math that you can't learn at school.

■November-December theme: Interpret units through a trade game!
A unit of measurement that developed along with trade.
For a long time, units of length, weight, volume, and time were not standardized worldwide, which created major barriers to transporting and buying and selling goods across borders.
Answer the quiz about the history of the development of units of time, metres, grams etc., have fun using old units such as "koku", "fathom" and "shaku", then try your hand at the trade business game!
While providing interpretation services for unit conversion, we also provide support for business and logistics (delivering goods cheaply, quickly and safely).
Rather than simply memorizing units, we aim to develop the ability to interpret numerical conditions and pursue efficiency.

■Features of this class
1. Full of mechanisms to elicit "why?" and "excitement" from children
Games, puzzles, quizzes, crafts... By starting with engrossing "play," children can get excited and proactively involved in math, whether they like it or not. They then go beyond textbooks and drills to explore math used in daily life and work.

2. To gain mathematical insight and insight into everyday things
You can improve your calculation skills by becoming a "convenience store manager," hone your sense of shapes by becoming a "logo designer," or learn probabilistic thinking by becoming an "investor/gambler"...you will be able to perceive the world around you with "mathematical eyes" and "mathematical mind."

3. You will acquire logical thinking skills and the ability to try and error, which are essential in mathematics.
It develops seven practical mathematical skills: 1) quantitative sense, 2) geometric observation skills, 3) practical calculation skills, 4) numerical analysis skills, 5) logical thinking skills, 6) whole construction skills, and 7) creativity and expression skills.

These are skills that can be steadily developed by attending classes with comprehensive individual support every week.

■ Program & Schedule
Mathematical concepts are abundant in everything around us: the business of shops, information disseminated through newspapers, magazines, and television, the design of buildings and furniture, etc. Children will steadily master the areas they learn at school, such as "numbers and calculations," "shapes," and "units and measurements," while coming into contact with real-life math through their favorite "work experiences."
Rather than mechanically working on drills with set answers, the content requires each student to think and see things from their own perspective, which helps develop their "ability to think." The program is characterized by its mechanisms that develop not only thinking skills, but also investigative skills, creativity, and communication skills, and encourage interest in connections with society.
