A talk between singer-songwriters Yuji Nakata and Masashi Watari will be held!

Both are avid readers and have been close friends for a long time.
We'll be asking each other all sorts of questions, from what they usually read, to books that have influenced their music production, books they'd recommend to each other, and more.
By picking up one of the books mentioned in the talk, you may gain a deeper understanding of the music of these two artists.

In addition, after the book talk, there will be an acoustic live performance by each artist.
Enjoy the superb acoustics in this hall, which also hosts classical music and traditional performing arts performances.

[Performer profile]

Born in 1981 in Kumamoto Prefecture.
In 2000, he formed the rock band "Tsubakiya Quartet" and began his music career as the frontman and songwriter for all of the band's repertoire. He began his solo career immediately after the band broke up in 2011. He has been actively engaged in music activities, such as constantly releasing original works and holding national tours, holding a live acoustic tour "Yuji Nakata's Singing Romantic Highway" where he decides the set list on the spot from a wide range of repertoire, both original and cover, and releasing the cover album "SONG COMPOSITE".
The latest work is "ARCHAIC SMILE" released in May 2024.

In 2001, he formed FoZZtone with other members in Tokyo, and made his major debut in 2007. He has realized a number of unconventional projects, including the industry's first custom-made album and a live tour that allows recording and filming.
In March 2015, he took a break from FoZZtone and traveled to the US alone, where he spent a month singing on the streets and in bars in New York and New Orleans. During his time in the US, he received an offer to be the vocalist for brainchild's, a project by Hideaki Kikuchi (THE YELLOW MONKEY), and was also in charge of writing the lyrics.
In September 2016, he released his first solo work "Master of Life" distributed nationwide on Tower Records Online. In September of this year, he released his fourth full album "MorroW SoundS" as a solo artist. With this album, he will hold a tour "Watarai Masashi Next Day Tour 2024" visiting 14 locations nationwide. Furthermore, on November 3rd, he will hold a solo live "Watarai Masashi 20th Anniversary Concert".
