Picture book author Tomonori Taniguchi is coming to Hirakata!
Taniguchi Tomonori's worldview, with its gentle and humorous stories and touch, completely captivates not only children but adults as well.
I'm sure many of you will find that as you read to your children, you will become a fan yourself.
So instead of just enjoying it at home, why not try experiencing it in a space surrounded by 7m-long bookshelves?
In addition to a reading by the artist himself, you will also be able to see Taniguchi's world take shape on canvas through a live painting session.

In addition, from (Fri) 2023 to (Tue), October 31st, 2023, we will be selling Tomonori Taniguchi's goods and prints at TSUTAYA BOOKS 's 2nd floor art space!

The autograph session will be held according to the timetable above.
*Limited to those who have purchased Tomonori Taniguchi's books at HIRAKATA TSUTAYA BOOKS. Please be sure to bring the book and our purchase receipt to the event. You can also purchase at the venue on the day of the event.
*You can also participate in just the autograph session.
*The signature will be included in the book. Please note that it cannot be included in your personal belongings.
[Seats]
・For both the first and second parts of the event, you will be seated according to your assigned seat number. Seat numbers will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, starting from the front seats. This does not apply to the order in which you line up on the day.
・Your seat number will be provided at reception on the day of the event.
・If you purchase multiple tickets, you and your companions can watch the show side by side.
As part of the event series "Reading Month - Autumn Evenings Savoring a Book," we have prepared a number of other events that will make you want to read more and make you love books even more.

■ Tomonori Taniguchi
Picture book author
Born in 1978. Graduated from Kanazawa College of Art, majoring in Japanese painting.
After making his debut as a picture book author in 2004 with "Saru-kun and the Moon,"
He has published numerous picture books in France, including "CACHE CACHE."
Since then, he has published many picture books abroad, including in Italy, Taiwan, China, Cambodia, etc. In addition to picture books, he is also active in many other fields, including advertising, package design, and spatial production for commercial facilities.
His main picture books include "100 Santa Clauses" and "The Monkey and the Banana Amusement Park." He won the 9th Kindergarten Picture Book Award for "The Gourmet Whale" and the 12th Kindergarten Picture Book Award for "The Chameleon's Shaved Ice Shop."
He also serves as a PR ambassador for Shijonawate City, Osaka Prefecture, and runs his own gallery cafe, zoologique, on the approach to Shijonawate Shrine.
The "Picture Book Author Tomonori Taniguchi Exhibition: Stories of the Birth of Color" will be held this summer at the Museum Eki Kyoto.
