[Event & Online Streaming (Zoom)] Opening Up the Care Series: Commemorating the Publication of "What You Buried in the Garden Must Be Digged Up" (Igaku Shoin) Talk Event with Saito Mie and Saito Mariko "Everyone is hurting. What is recovery? A look at its possibilities"
Humanities
TSUTAYA BOOKS Building 3, 2nd floor event space / ZOOM distribution 2024年 11月14日(木)
To celebrate the publication of Mie Saito's first book, "What We Bury in the Garden Must Be Digged Up," we will be holding a talk event featuring Korean literature translator Mariko Saito.
In addition to having tendencies toward autism spectrum disorder, Saito Mii has also experienced acute myeloid leukemia and eating disorders. After a suicide attempt, she was committed to a psychiatric hospital, which led her to decide that "I have no other way to live than to write," and so she began writing.
On the other hand, Saito Mariko, a translator of Korean literature, has had a deep interest in the emotions and pain of people that run across borders, as well as the social structures and women's issues that lie behind these things.
Ultimately, there is no one in this human world who has not been hurt. On the day, we would like to have a conversation that touches on what recovery and life mean to us.
This event will be held both offline (at DAIKANYAMA TSUTAYA BOOKS) and online.
