The model is Yanobe's work "SHIP'SCAT (Muse)," which is installed at the main entrance of the Nakanoshima Museum of Art in Osaka, which opened in 2022.

In order to faithfully reproduce the work created by contemporary artist Kenji Yanobe, the distinctive vermilion paint has been reproduced and the metal parts are lavishly made with plated parts.

In addition, the distinctive eyes are made of glass, just like in the original sculpture, and attention has been paid not only to the shape but also to the materials.

Yanobe's SHIP'S CAT, a giant cat monument that watches over people's safe journeys and brings good fortune to the local area, is a contemporary art piece that has been gaining popularity both in Japan and overseas since its debut in 2017. The cat is dressed in a vermilion suit, a color that has been used in palaces, shrines and temples since ancient times as a color symbolizing protection from evil and eternal youth and longevity.
