About the productJapanese

"Oni Daimyo: The Echoes of KYOTO" is an art book that looks back on the Kyoto art scene over the past decade through the activities of the curation unit "Oni Daimyo."
"Oni Daimyo" is a curatorial unit formed by three artists, Kito Kengo, Oba Daisuke, and Nawa Kohei, who all teach at Kyoto University of the Arts.
It has been about 10 years since they first collaborated on the art direction of the renewal of "Hotel Anteroom Kyoto" in 2016, and during this time Onidaimyo has been involved in a wide range of projects, from exhibitions to art direction for commercial facilities. These activities have connected society and education through art practice, revitalizing the energy of young artists and teaching students the path to survival in the art market.
This book introduces 12 of these projects and features the work of nearly 180 artists in total.
