Illustrator Posuka Demizu's solo exhibition will be held from August 20th "Posuka Demizu Special Exhibition Oceanic Tranquility Art Exhibition"
GINZA TSUTAYA BOOKS will hold a solo exhibition by illustrator Posuka Demizu, "Posuka Demizu Special Exhibition Oceanic Tranquility Art Exhibition," from Tuesday, August 20, 2024 to Monday, September 30, 2024.
In addition to displaying original works that Demizu Posuka has drawn throughout his career, the exhibition will also sell about 30 original goods based on the works on display, such as reproductions, glasses, postcards, and zines. The venue will be filled with the artist's original works. As the title of the exhibition, "Oceanic Tranquility," means "tranquility of the ocean," the works on display express not only the artist's unique dynamism, delicacy, and brightness, but also his unique darkness.
"This is my first attempt at holding an exhibition at GINZA TSUTAYA BOOKS. I've visited the book store from time to time and thought it was a lovely one, so I'm very grateful for this opportunity. It's an honor to have had this opportunity in a place that not only attracts many people from all over the world, but also actively disseminates culture. This time, I made a lot of things together with Tohakusha, such as candles that express the worldview of the illustrations and 3D special printing art. I'm more nervous than usual because these are all things that would be difficult to make on my own.
I hope you will find something that you like."
To commemorate this project, approximately 30 original goods using the works on display will be on sale at the venue, including reproductions of original artwork, glasses, postcards, and ZINES.
Some items, such as "reproductions of original artwork," will also be available for sale online.
