How does the path you have taken connect to the present?
A message from my present self to my past self.

"One day, I saw a swan gliding back and forth at great speed across a short stretch of water. It was leaning forward and frantically flapping its legs just below the surface of the water. I know exactly what it must be like to do that, because that's what I do too."
While Masako Nakagawa continues to take photographs as a professional photographer, she also writes down her thoughts almost daily in her diary, blog, and social media. Why does she continue to express herself so much?
Now that I'm 50, I look back on the words I've written in the past. Sweet, pathetic, crazy, and pure memories come back to me. Just as I smile wryly at the swans struggling desperately in the waterway and cheer them on with a small voice, "Hang in there!", I'll try to throw words back at myself, who has run through life without looking back.
This is Nakagawa Masako's first attempt at publishing a full-scale essay book. In writing this book, she reread her past diaries, blogs, and SNS posts, and selected 17 memorable pieces about "the past me." While occasionally adding her own quips, she calmly looks at each statement. She considers how all the emotions and experiences she had at the time are connected to the "me of today." It is a correspondence between her past and present selves.
Career paths, marriage, childbirth, child rearing, work... Masako Nakagawa's sharp perspective and straightforward feelings transform ordinary daily life into a wave of colorful memories.

To commemorate the publication of this book, a talk event and autograph session will be held.
