Fukazawa Tetsuya
He began working as an illustrator in 2004.
Traveling between Japan and overseas (mainly Mexico), she engages in enjoyable activities such as illustration work, exhibitions, and workshops.
He believes that travel is essential to his creative endeavors, and has traveled to many countries, including Scandinavia in 2010 to gain inspiration for his picture book.
He produces illustrations in a wide range of fields, including books, textbooks, magazines, advertising posters for commercial facilities, and CD jackets, upon request both from within Japan and overseas.
He also illustrated ANA's in-flight magazine for four years, and illustrated the gifts given away to commemorate a circumnavigation of the Narita-Mexico route.
After visiting Mexico in 2011, he became fascinated by the art and colorful culture and made Mexico his second base.
In 2015, he opened his own studio and cafe, OKAME, in Oaxaca, where he continues to create art while interacting with local people through culture at the open gallery.
In 2014, he held an exhibition of Japanese-themed illustrations at the gallery of the Embassy of Japan in Mexico City, which received a great response.
The first exhibition in New York will be held in 2023.
The exhibition, which has received a great response including an interview from the American magazine Bold Journey, will be held simultaneously in two locations in New York.
Awards
He was selected for the UNIQLO Creative Award, and T-shirts featuring his illustrations are on sale in UNIQLO stores around the world, including in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Hong Kong.
