[Exhibition] Harumi Shimizu Photo Exhibition "From Afar"
Art
TSUTAYA BOOKS No. 2, 1st floor gallery space 2024年08月26日(月) - 09月15日(日)
Harumi Shimizu is a photographer who has been selected for special exhibitions at IMA magazine and KYOTOGRAPHIE Kyoto International Photography Festival, and is active in a wide range of media, including fashion magazines and brand PR.
This time, the exhibition will focus on landscape photographs taken during her travels, which she continues to take alongside her themed photography. In her cheerful and gentle photographs taken around the world, you can sense the breathing of people and animals far away, as well as a touch of humor. The fleeting gestures that only she can capture bring us closer to the world.
In addition to the works on sale, we will also be selling four types of T-shirts and large cloth posters, which are the first merchandise available.

She continues to work on a series of crosses standing in nature, as well as a series that records plants and animals that have been created through mutation and artificial improvement. Recent exhibitions include the special exhibition "10/10 A Celebration of Contemporary Japanese Women Photographers" at KYOTOGRAPHIE (HOSOO Gallery, 2022) and the solo exhibition "The Plants in the Voynich Manuscript" (IMA gallery, 2019).
